They’re handy names; Hawkins, Jeremy & Charlie Cameron, Riewoldt, and Walker, with Mihocek coming next with 212 goals in that time.
And yet, he still often goes unheralded externally.
A now five-time Gordon Coventry Award winner as the Club’s leading goal kicker, Mihocek has led the Pies forward line for half a decade, yet he’s still happy to fly under the radar.
“There’s a lot of great stories there, there’s a lot of success out of the game and in everyone’s career and that is what teams are built off. I think throughout that whole year we just had that belief we were the best and no matter who come in or went out that everyone would play their role,” he said.
“We’ve got a lot of superstars in our team but the ones that aren’t so called superstars, they just do what is best for the team and there’s no selfish players.
“We just do what’s best for everyone and I think that’s why this team was so special. I can’t put into words how awesome this group is.
“I think it’s just all role players and the want to get better every day.
“I think a massive part with Fly over the last two years is the getting better aspect, we all enjoy coming into work every day and wanting to improve.”
While not his best day personally in terms of output, Mihocek did still hit the scoreboard on Grand Final day, creating something out of nothing to kick a miracle goal.
But while some thought it was a wild shot given his position on the ground, the 30-year-old insists there was a plan all along.
“I always knew what I wanted to do,” he said.
“I knew where I was on the ground, I knew where the goals were, and I think the hesitation you saw on TV was me telling Beau (McCreery) to get out of my way so I could have a shot.
“I knew I wanted to at least have one shot for the game and kick that goal and even dreamt about it being on the boundary line where I could turn to the fans.
“It was something that I dreamt of and it happened and I love the photo that was taken… I can just look at that picture all day and it’s something I’m very proud of.”
